My first book of my 101 in 1001 list is Like Water for Chocolate by Laura Esquivel. I'd heard a lot about this book and kept seeing it at Borders, but never picked it up before.
I liked this book. I don't really have much to say about it. It wasn't one I hated or one that I loved. It's a little strange and has some sci-fi elements to it, but it's pretty good. It's definitely a quick read. I just picked it up at the library today and finished it a few moments ago. I liked that it wasn't predictable like some books are.
Each chapter starts with a recipe and the descriptions will make you hungry so I definitely recommend having easy access to good Mexican food while reading it.
